Downloaded the beta - and performance is TEH SUCK. At 1680x1050 on my computer (AMD X2 4400, 2GB RAM, ATI X800XT), I get 12 to 17 fps, with a lot of just absolute dead moments.

Graphically, it still looks like Total Annihilation.

More to come as I can suffer through the performance.

this game ROCKS, and graphically is just WOW.

The AI players in this game actually put up a decent fight for once, though the game still suffers from the naval pathfinding issues that TA had. The new transports are REALLY funky. you can now select the transport and the group you want to carry, and the transport will pick up all the units it can carry, take them to the target location, then go back to pick up some more!

Come on - AMD X2 4400+ and a X800 XT (which is about what, a 1600 or better?)

solution is still valid until you are running on absolutly max settings.

The X2 should cut it, but the x800 is a little lacking nowadays.

thats the same as my rig... and im getting far beyond 28fps (barring when a scout flies over my porcupine AA defences)

Well, not to do any bashing on a developer I am not familiar with, but I noticed a growing trend *coughEAcough* of tossing a game out early and using patches to optimize over time.

difference is that THQ gets things done. EA just messes around until no one plays the game anymore.
