The game plays a lot slower than previous Civ versions. Best thing is to focus on learning one victory condition and how to balance the other aspects, and just play over and over. :)

K, so I went through the tutorial and played a small (continent sized) game and got further before giving up. I was boxed in and couldn't get any further without war. I was not ready for war. I simply was not producing the gold to buy my way through all these different borders.

I have won Domination, Cultural, Diplomatic, and Time - but the space race seems out of my reach.

Cranking through all of the Civs. Domination is still often the endgame as the enemy Civs won't leave you alone. I understand this is being fixed. They are also nerfing the buyout of Maritime city-states to get huge quickly.

I had no problem winning with a science victory even tho i ended up taking over half the world just to stop the constant attacks.  But a diplomatic victory was pretty much impossible unless I wanted to wait 100 or 200 turns.  I am going to try just buying off the city states because that was all that was left besides me neway and see if the vote goes in my favor lol.

A Diplomatic victory requires you to pay off the city-states. That's the idea....

Try Science at Prince or King level.
