New BF2 Server Setup

Oooo wicked, is there any way you can have just jeeps on the map? as the 1st 10 mins gets a bit boring until there are some flags capped, but rather have that than nothing.

INF ONLY. No vehicles at all im afraid. But you can run further than on the standard game.

Okay cool, but imo, it's better with vehicles, it's just support and spam nades without, and you can just camp everywhere, I prefer having the challenge of having to dodge the vehicles and blow them up with my mighty C4! Sharqi on the rotation would be cool, as that is such a good map, and you get bored of cars/tanks and I like a bit of Heli action, what do you all think?

P.S. Finally getting back on the server with you all today, it was a great laugh, and funny hearing, "Bullshit" alot and "Lame" Comms is a good laugh.

I've noticed the server isn't getting much traffic now, I think the "fad" is over.

Any chance of going back to normal BF2 now?

I would also like to add these maps, Dragon Valley 32 and Fushe Pass 32.

Just to get more chopper maps going.

i must say i'm having quite a lot of fun on infantry only. i might be the only one tho.

i just think that it's much more difficult to find a good (by which i mean good rules and admins) server with vehicles on it. if you find a decent sharqi server with choppers give me the ip. on the other hand every infantry only battle is just a big fucking mess, not much you can do as an admin anyway, maybe kick for clays on flags. you can go on infantry only on any server and it's the same intense nadespam revive party everywhere.

so, yes, back to vehicles please. maybe add some maps....dragon and fushe are not too bad as long as there are no planes on it.

well my words wont count for much yet..  but if any one listen to me.. i guess its best to take the ES server back from inf only... reason for this is..... im getting bored by all the walking.. if i wanted my exercise i woldnt be playing this game

no seriusly.. the server is empty most of the time now.. so the push for inf only servers is gon, and there is just to many inf only servers up now..

well il play on it any how due to its allways fun there when its populated... so u guys do what ever u want... and for what kinda maps the server shuld be on there.. its all up to u.. i reffere back to what ive said earlyer.

Well here is what happened today.



Server was running jalalabad was full.

Karkand comes round, server empties completely.

according to the browser, in total there are just 1843 active BF2 servers, less than a third have players or are full, but there are listed 27000 players online playing BF2 according to gamespy... .

There has to be a problem with the Browser, I know there is a bug that drops players and that appears to have happened today, we lost 15 players in just a few mins, in blocks of 5 players at a time.

For tonight, I have put vehicles back on, just to see if we can get it going again....

For what its worth, most players are playing on 16-24 slot servers, playing 64 size maps, with those making over 3/4 of all the populated servers.
